Located around the
shimmering blue water, Udaipur

The city was founded in 1567 by Maharana Udai Singh

City
Palace in Udaipur is reputed
as one of the most amazing architectural marvels
in India. The main entrance is through the triple
arched gate, the 'Tripolia' with eight marble porticos.
The majestic palace of Rajasthan is a conglomeration
of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms
and hanging gardens. The museum in the palace displays
ancient paintings and other articulates that date
back to the time of yore.

On
the shores of Fateh sagar lake
was built a garden for the 48 young girls waiting
to be sent to the royal house as part of Dowry.
This small ornamental garden was a popular relaxing
spot where royal ladies came for a stroll and hence
the name. The garden has many fountains in its four
delightful pools, chiseled kiosks and marble elephants.

shape of lake resembles the map of India. |
